El sábado, un niño de 8 años llamado Alex se bautizó en nuestro barrio. Nos enteramos con poco aviso del bautismo, por lo que se apresuró a preparar las cosas, y trabajar junto con los misioneros y el obispo. Teniamos el programa de bautismo listo con la ayuda de miembros y uno de los misioneros de barrio. Mientras mi marido tenía que trabajar, yo tenia la oportunidad de asistir al bautismo. Me quedaba muy impresionada por el amor y la bondad de los miembros. Norma Pahl, por ejemplo, al recibir un mensaje de mi parte sobre el bautismo de Alex y su cumpleaños, traia una toalla con su nombre puesto en él. Mi madre le daba una tarjeta de Alex y algunos dulces. Fue bonito ver a Alex compartir los dulces. Le preguntaba a Alex cómo se sentia cuando entraba en el agua, y el me decia, "asustado" creo. :)
Creo que sería una buena idea preguntar a nuestros nuevos conversos a la Iglesia, lo que ellos sienten que se podría hacer para mejorar bautismos en el futuro, lo que ayudará al investigador sentir más cómodo. Creo que es normal estar nervioso. Pero, lo que sería genial sería que la gente se sienta en paz y cómodo. Pero también hay nervios y emoción. :) El domingo se confirmó Alex y su hermana pequeña tenía su bendicion de bebé.
Flavio y yo estábamos hablando con sus padres acerca de su futura visita a nosotros aquí en Utah. Nosotros bendeciremos a nuestro bebé cuando su padre es capaz de estar aquí, no importa cuando sea. :) Estamos muy contentos de que vengan a compartir momentos especiales con ellos, ya que no pudieron estar aquí por nuestro sellamiento. Es tan genial que Flavio y su familia y ahora yo, tenemos la oportunidad de solicitar la ciudadanía italiana y argentina, y para mí, y Flavio algun dia, la ciudadanía de EE.UU.
Sería genial tener una ciudadanía global. Un pasaporte de ciudadano del mundo. Una bandera ciudadano global ... ooh, creo que voy a hacer uno.
Eso está bien para el mundo, pero tenemos la Iglesia y el Evangelio.
Podemos tener una bandera para el Reino! Todos somos hijos e hijas de un rey.

On Saturday, an 8 year old boy named Alex got baptized in our ward. We had such little notice of the baptism, so we hurried to get things ready, and work together with the Missionaries and the Bishop. We got the baptism program ready with the help of members and one of the ward missionaries. While my husband had to work, I was able to attend the baptism. I was so impressed by the love and kindness of the members. Norma Pahl, for example, got a text from me about Alex's baptism and previous birthday, and brought a towel with his name on it. My mom got Alex a card and some candy. It was sweet to see Alex sharing the candy. I asked Alex how he felt when he went into the water, he said scared. :)
I think it would be a good idea to ask our recent converts to the Church, what they feel could be done to improve baptisms in the future, what will help the investigator feel more comfortable. I think it's normal to be nervous. But what would be great would be for people to feel at peace and comfortable. But there are also nerves and excitement. :) On Sunday Alex was confirmed and his little sister had her baby blessing.
Flavio and I were talking with his parents about their future visit to us here in Utah. We will bless our baby when his dad is able to be here, no matter when that is. :) We are excited for them to come and share special times with them, since they were not able to be here for our sealing. It's so cool that Flavio and his family and now me, have the opportunity to claim Italian citizenship as well as Argentine, and for me and Flavio, US citizenship as well some day, for Flavio.
It would be cool to have a global citizenship. A global citizen passport. A global citizen Flag...ooh, I think I will make one.
That's cool for the world, but then we have the Church and the Gospel.
We can have a flag for the Kingdom! We are all sons and daughters of a King.

En Busqueda y Resultados! In Search of and Results!
Bueno, no actualizado a diario, pero todavia bueno :) Ok, not updated daily, but still pretty good :)
Así que he estado sintiendo frío, y luego ayer me sentí tan mareada y un poco mareado que estaba preocupado por el embarazo ectópico. Hice una busqueda electronica y finalmente encontré Center / Clínica de las avenidas de la mujer y fui a hacerme una prueba de sangre. Revisaron mis niveles de HCG, la progesterona y la tiroides. Me dijeron que comer mas proteína y la dieta baja en carbohidratos .... así el wafle de Bruges que comi para el almuerzono era tan buen idea pero ricoo, pero me aseguré de comer algunas almendras y tomar leche después para un poco de proteína. Mi tiroides volvió normal, así, eso es buenisimo! Y la progesterona es a 14.7.

So I have been feeling cold, and then yesterday I felt so lightheaded and kind of dizzy that I was concerned about ectopic pregnancy. I looked around and finally found the Avenues Women's Center/Clinic and went to get a blood test. They checked my HCG levels, Progesterone, and Thyroid. Results are in and are normal, and the information is quite interesting.

my HCG levels are a bit on the higher side of the range given (which varies) for pregnancy of 5 weeks, which is fine, and could mean the possibility of MULTIPLES. Well now! Wouldn't that be interesting, Twins for me and Flavio?? Or it could be molar pregnancy, I hope not, anyway, who knows...but for now, at least the levels are good, I am pregnant, about 5 weeks and 1 day along, feeling a bit unpleasant, but no major nausea, which I'm grateful for. I was told to eat a high protein, low carb diet....well the Bruges waffle I had for lunch today was just a must-have haha, but I made sure to eat some almonds and have some milk after for some protein. My thyroid came back normal as well, so that is fabulous! And the Progesterone is at 14.7.

Partera? Doctor? Centro de Parto? Hospital? Creo que he elegido la manera más adecuada para mí! Midwife? Doctor? Birth Center? Hospital? I think I have chosen the right fit for me!
Como he estado hablando con Valerie, sobre las comadronas, realmente empecé a considerar qué es lo que realmente quiero / necesito?
Después de hacer algunas investigaciones, creo que estoy decidido.
Me gustaría tener una CNM, que es una enfermera partera certificada y eso significa que el bebe nace en el Hospital LDS con el CNM e incluye consulta médica de la doctora cuando sea necesario. Así que lo ideal, me gustaría tener mi partera allí, y entonces el Dr. Jackson está disponible si la necesito. Tendremos que ver. Yo en realidad naci en el Hospital LDS! haha!
Me gusta la idea de tener la partera, en la seguridad de un hospital! Perfecto!

Dia de Domingo Sabbath Day
Hoy, Flavio y yo fuimos a la iglesia. Dirigi la música en la reunión sacramental. Antes de comenzar la reunion, la señora que normalmente toca la música del preludio en el órgano no había llegado todavía, así que decidí tocar un poco de preludio en el piano. Me sentí un poco extraño, pensando, ¿es esto permitido? :) Pero luego me di cuenta, esta es la iglesia! No hay una regla que dice que no puedo tocar Himnos para establecer un tono espiritual antes de la reunión, así que lo hice.
Hoy, Flavio y yo compartimos nuestros testimonios en la reunion. Yo estaba tan feliz de ver a Flavio dar su testimonio. :) Lo dijo en Inglés.
Enseñe mi clase de escuela dominical sobre la Apostasía y la Restauración del Evangelio. Flavio fue a casa a traerme un poco de fruta y más agua.

Today, Flavio and I went to church. Today I led the music in the Sacrament Meeting. Before Church began, the lady who normally plays prelude music on the organ had not arrived yet, so I decided to play some prelude on the piano. I felt a little strange at first, thinking, is this allowed? :) But then I realized, this is the church! There is no rule that says I can't play Hymns to set a spiritual tone before the meeting, so I did.
Today both Flavio and I bore our testimonies. I was so happy to see Flavio go bear his testimony. :)
He said it in English. I taught my Sunday School class about the Apostasy and the Restoration of the Gospel. Flavio went home to get me some fruit and more water.
We spoke to Flavio's family via Skype, and also some members of the Rodriguez family! Flavio's dad, Ricardo, said that he announced our news in their Church meeting.
I wanted to drink some herbal tea before bed, but I looked up chamomile, and it is something I should avoid while pregnant, apparently.
So many rules :)

Un dia especial A Special Day
Hoy es un día especial, porque fue un 13 de abril, cuando recibí mi bendición patriarcal. Esas bendiciones son tan especiales e importantes. Estoy agradecido de ser miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. El Patriarca que me dio mi bendición es el Hermano Charles Doane. Vive al lado de la casa de mi padre. Hay hogar es tan parecido al templo. Es muy limpio, y tranquilo. El hogar es tan importante. El hogar y la familia son tan especiales.
En la reciente Conferencia General, el élder Scott dio una charla titulada Por la paz en el país y esta es una cita de su discurso:
"Muchas voces del mundo en el que vivimos nos dicen que debemos vivir a un ritmo frenético. Siempre hay más por hacer y más por lograr. Sin embargo, en el interior de cada uno de nosotros es una necesidad de tener un lugar de refugio donde la paz y la serenidad prevalecer, un lugar donde se puede restablecer, reagruparse y prepararse para revitalizar a tensiones futuras.
El lugar ideal para que la paz está dentro de las paredes de nuestras casas, donde hemos hecho todo lo posible para que el Señor Jesucristo es el centro de mesa.
Algunas casas tienen un padre que es un digno poseedor del sacerdocio unidos por una madre fiel y devoto, que en conjunto conducen con justicia. Muchas casas tienen una configuración diferente. Independientemente de sus circunstancias, puede centrar su hogar y su vida en el Señor Jesucristo, porque Él es la fuente de la verdadera paz en esta vida. "
Ahora, un poco sobre nuestra jornada de hoy, ha sido bastante tranquila. Flavio iba al gimnasio y me he quedado en casa. Flavio se enfermó por desgracia. Pensé náuseas tenía que suceder a mí, no a él! Hicimos un viaje a la tienda a comprar algunas cosas y hemos pasado el resto del día en su casa. Ha llovido hoy, y Flavio dijo que el olor de la lluvia le recordaba a Argentina, porque el olor a lluvia era la misma. :)

Today is a special day, because it was an April 13th when I received my Patriarchal Blessing. Those blessings are so special and important. I'm grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Patriarch who gave me my blessing is Brother Charles Doane. He lives next door to my parent's house. There home is so much like the temple. It is so clean, and peaceful. The Home is so important. The Home and Family are so special.
In the recent General Conference, Elder Scott gave a talk called For Peace at Home and this is a quote from his talk:
"Many voices from the world in which we live tell us we should live at a frantic pace. There is always more to do and more to accomplish. Yet deep inside each of us is a need to have a place of refuge where peace and serenity prevail, a place where we can reset, regroup, and reenergize to prepare for future pressures.
The ideal place for that peace is within the walls of our own homes, where we have done all we can to make the Lord Jesus Christ the centerpiece.
Some homes have a father who is a worthy priesthood holder joined by a faithful, devoted mother who together lead in righteousness. Many homes have a different configuration. Regardless of your circumstances, you can center your home and your life on the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the source of true peace in this life."
Now, a little about our day today, it has been pretty calm. Flavio went to the gym and I have stayed home. Flavio became ill unfortunately. I thought nausea was supposed to happen to me, not to him! We took a trip to the store to get some things and we have spent the rest of the day at home. It has rained today, and Flavio said that the smell of rain reminded him of Argentina, because the rain smell was the same. :)
Reunion Misional Mission Reunion

Ayer, Flavio y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a una reunion misional. Nosotros servimos en la mision Buenos Aires Norte en Argentina. Flavio sirvio de 2008 a 2010 y yo de 2009 a 2010. Tuvimos dos Presidentes de Mision. El primero se llama Presidente Shane Argyle, y su esposa Heidi Argyle, y tienen 4 hijos: Austin que esta sirviendo la mision en España ahora, Anika que se prepara para ir a la facultad, Quinn que ayuda con las cabras, y Seth el mas pequeño que tiene 13 años. Ellos viven en West Jordan Utah.
Una de las responsabilidades de ser misioneros retornados es de cuidar a nuestros compañeros de la mision. Llevamos a la hermana Carrie Marx con nosotros a la reunion. Vimos a varios compañeros! Nos encanta ver a los hermanos Kroff, Julie y Richard Kroff. Ellos estaban trabajando en las oficinas. Pasaron mucho tiempo con Flavio en la mision. Ellos actualmente viven en Tooele, pero sirven en el templo de Salt Lake dos veces a la semana.
La reunion fue muy lindo! A Flavio y a mi nos gustaron muchisimo unas ricas albondigas que alguien habia preparado!! Deliciosas! Escuchabamos hablar a los Argyle, la Hermana sobre el Espiritu Santo, y el Presidente sobre el matrimonio, la mudanza, el estudio de escrituras, y nos dejo todo en una nota muy elevante. Que hermoso es servir al Señor, ser parte de Su obra.
Hacemos reuniones cada 6 meses. Cuando vuelven nuestro segundo Presidente, el Presidente Gulbrandsen, y su esposa la Hermana Karen Gulbrandsen, vamos a ver como hacemos para ir a su reunion. Ellos son de Arizona, asi que tal vez vayamos alla en algun momento para una reunion si lo tienen.

We love to see the Kroffs, Julie and Richard Kroff. They were working in the mission office. They spent much time with Flavio in the mission office. They currently live in Tooele, but serve in the Salt Lake Temple twice a week.
The meeting was very nice! Flavio and I liked some delicious meatballs that someone had prepared! We listened to the Argyles; Sister Argyle talked about the Holy Spirit, and the President about marriage, moving, scripture study, and left us all on a very uplifting note. How beautiful it is to serve the Lord, to be part of His work.
We meet every six months. When our second President returns, President Gulbrandsen, and his wife, Sister Karen Gulbrandsen,we'll see if we can go to their reunion. They are from Arizona, so maybe we'll go there at some point for a reunion if they have one.
Ayer, Flavio y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a una reunion misional. Nosotros servimos en la mision Buenos Aires Norte en Argentina. Flavio sirvio de 2008 a 2010 y yo de 2009 a 2010. Tuvimos dos Presidentes de Mision. El primero se llama Presidente Shane Argyle, y su esposa Heidi Argyle, y tienen 4 hijos: Austin que esta sirviendo la mision en España ahora, Anika que se prepara para ir a la facultad, Quinn que ayuda con las cabras, y Seth el mas pequeño que tiene 13 años. Ellos viven en West Jordan Utah.
Una de las responsabilidades de ser misioneros retornados es de cuidar a nuestros compañeros de la mision. Llevamos a la hermana Carrie Marx con nosotros a la reunion. Vimos a varios compañeros! Nos encanta ver a los hermanos Kroff, Julie y Richard Kroff. Ellos estaban trabajando en las oficinas. Pasaron mucho tiempo con Flavio en la mision. Ellos actualmente viven en Tooele, pero sirven en el templo de Salt Lake dos veces a la semana.
La reunion fue muy lindo! A Flavio y a mi nos gustaron muchisimo unas ricas albondigas que alguien habia preparado!! Deliciosas! Escuchabamos hablar a los Argyle, la Hermana sobre el Espiritu Santo, y el Presidente sobre el matrimonio, la mudanza, el estudio de escrituras, y nos dejo todo en una nota muy elevante. Que hermoso es servir al Señor, ser parte de Su obra.
Hacemos reuniones cada 6 meses. Cuando vuelven nuestro segundo Presidente, el Presidente Gulbrandsen, y su esposa la Hermana Karen Gulbrandsen, vamos a ver como hacemos para ir a su reunion. Ellos son de Arizona, asi que tal vez vayamos alla en algun momento para una reunion si lo tienen.

Yesterday, Flavio and I had the opportunity to go to a mission reunion. We served in the Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission. Flavio served from 2008 to 2010 and I served from 2009 to 2010. We had two mission presidents. The first is called President Shane Argyle, and his wife Heidi, and they have four children: Austin who is serving his mission in Spain now, Anika who is preparing to go to college, Quinn who helps with the goats, and Seth the youngest who is 13. They live in West Jordan Utah.

Cumple de Perry Perry's Birthday
Hoy Flavio y yo nos fuimos a trabajar!
Creo que estoy a 4 semanas en el embarazo, algo asi.
No se si todavia comprendemos esta realidad! Es increible! Jaja!
Esta noche, es el cumpleaños de Perry Felix Shaffer! Ese nene tiene 2 años hoy! Como nos gusta tener sobrinos! A Perry le encanta jugar con pelotas! Su cumple tenia un tema de "space" espacio, y le encontramos una camisa de naves espaciales!
Tengo mucha tarea por cumplir esta semana, asi que adelante me digo!

Este dia, el dia despues de habernos averiguado que vamos a ser padres, tuvimos que ir a trabajar porsupuesto! :) Flavio trabajo durante el dia y en la noche. Fui a casa, y tenia sueño pero no senti que pude descansar bien. Mis padres tocaron la puerta y me trajeron flores y una tarjeta. Les di abrazos, y saque una foto con ellos. Cuando se fueron, lei de nuevo la tarjeta y me puse emocional :)

This day, the day after we found out we're going to be parents, we had to go to work of course! :) Flavio worked during the day and into the night. I went home, and was sleepy but I felt that I could not sleep well. My parents knocked on the door and brought me flowers and a card. I gave them hugs, and took a picture with them. When they left, I read the card again and got emotional :)

Volvimos a casa despues de un dia de trabajo, pero primero pasabamos por una tienda para comprar el "test". Cuando llegamos a casa, y salio POSITIVO!
Compartimos un momento especial, y pronto entrabamos en Skype, para contar nuestras nuevas noticias a familia en Argentina!
Ricardo y Mari se alegraron muchisimo al saber que van a ser abuelos otra vez! Llamaron a Julia, y Angela, y le contabamos a Esteban tambien!
Despues yo, Heidi, llame a mi amiga Valerie, y despues fuimos a contar a mis papas. Mi papa estuvo solo en casa en ese momento entonces a el le di las noticias.
Mas tarde despues de haberle contado a mi hermana, llame a mi mama y le conte tambien.
Flavio habia salido para ir a la tienda, y cuando volvio me trajo rosas :)
Estamos emocionados, casi todavia no lo podemos creer, que realmente este dia haya llegado en nuestra vida.
Lo siguiente son las palabras de Elder Anderson de su discurso "Los Hijos" de Octubre 2011":
"Al mirar a los ojos de un niño, vemos a un amigo hijo o hija de Dios que estuvo con nosotros en la vida premortal.
Es el privilegio culminante de un esposo y una esposa que pueden tener hijos proporcionar cuerpos mortales para esos hijos espirituales de Dios. Creemos en las familias y creemos en los niños.
Cuando a un esposo y a una esposa les nace un hijo, están cumpliendo parte del plan de nuestro Padre Celestial de traer hijos a la tierra. El Señor dijo: “…ésta es mi obra y mi gloria: Llevar a cabo la inmortalidad y la vida eterna del hombre” 1 . Antes de la inmortalidad, debe haber mortalidad.
La familia es ordenada por Dios. Las familias son fundamentales en el plan de nuestro Padre Celestial aquí en la tierra y a través de las eternidades. Después de que Adán y Eva fueran unidos en matrimonio, en las Escrituras dice: “Y los bendijo Dios y les dijo Dios: Fructificad y multiplicaos; y henchid la tierra” 2 . En nuestros días, los profetas y apóstoles han declarado: “El primer mandamiento que Dios les dio a Adán y a Eva se relacionaba con el potencial que, como esposo y esposa, tenían de ser padres. Declaramos que el mandamiento de Dios para Sus hijos de multiplicarse y henchir la tierra permanece en vigor” "

We returned home after a day of work, but first we passed by a store to buy the "test". When we got home, I tested positive!
We shared a special moment, and soon entered Skype, and shared our news with family in Argentina!
Ricardo and Mari were delighted to know that they will be grandparents again! They called Julia, Angela, and Esteban too.
After I, Heidi, called my friend Valerie, we then went to tell my parents. My dad was the only home so I gave him the news.
Later after having told my sister, i called my mom and told her also.
Flavio had left to go to the store, and he brought me roses :)
We are excited, almost still can not believe that this day has really come into our lives.
The following are the words of Elder Anderson of his "children" October 2011 ":
"When you look into the eyes of a child, we see a child friend of God who was with us in the premortal life.
It is the crowning privilege of a husband and wife can have children to provide mortal bodies for these spirit children of God. We believe in families and in children.
When a husband and wife were born a son, are fulfilling part of Heavenly Father's plan to bring children to the land. The Lord said: "... this is my work and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" 1. Before immortality, there must be death.
The family is ordained of God. Families are central to Heavenly Father's plan here on earth and through the eternities. After Adam and Eve were united in marriage, in the Scripture says: "And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth" 2. Today, the prophets and apostles have declared: "The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve was related to the potential as husband and wife, had to be parents. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force ""
