Tios (Aunt and Uncle)

Last night, Flavio and I went to visit the Tios.
Aunt Chris and Uncle David, and Papa is currently there too. Poor guy wasn't doing too well. He recently fell and was in pain so was on medication that probably made him feel not all there. We ate dinner together. We brought some items Papa had requested, one of which was his wedding ring, It's so lovely. He is going to have David get it resized. I thought it was sweet to see the ring in a nice container with a heart :)
It was fun to chat with Aunt Chris, we laughed a lot, and Flavio was helping Uncle David outside on the new shed he has been making. It looked great! Snickers came out to say goodbye before we left, Snickers is the cat :) They have a new motoscooter that gets Great Mileage!!
We made a kind of morbid joke and said, thanks to the dear person who passed away, we were enjoying dinner (we had the left over funeral food) haha. Hope you have an open minded sense of humor for that one.
I liked the strawberry rhubarb jam that Aunt Chris had. And she had green beans from her own garden!
It was neat to see their soda making machine!! It would be cool to have one of those!!
I'd also love a chocolate making machine! :)
They are going to go kayaking maybe Friday, which sounds fun! Aunt Chris said she likes to go to a place called Vivian Park by Provo Canyon! We'll have to check that out! She also said that one day, when I'm not pregnant, we can go kayaking! I like their adventurousness!

Tour

We finished our birth class a while ago. We finished it with a tour of the U of U hospital, which was interesting, even though we are birthing at the LDS Hospital. We learned how to utilize the bed in the room, there are various things you can do to position the bed and use it to help you. We also were fortunate to see a tiny little baby, weighing around 5 lbs.
Soon we will take a tour of the LDS Hospital which I think is a lot nicer haha :)

GESTATIONAL DIABETES....................????

NOPE! I don't have it, and I'm very glad I don't! However, I will tell you what it was like to get the Tolerance Test done. The previous post was about the screening, which I didn't pass, but this tolerance test would be the deciding test.

I woke up on Friday morning, and Flavio and I went to the lab, and they took my blood. Then 20 min later we saw the results of this, and since the results weren't too high, (they have a certain limit) I was then to proceed and drink 100 grams of glucose. !!! This stuff, doesn't taste near as bad as what you have to drink for a colonoscopy. However, it sure made me feel not well. I started wishing I had a blanket, because I became cold, and the light started bothering me, so I wished I could turn off the lights haha, and then I got yucky feeling, and was just trying to hold the drink down :) Then an hour after finishing that drink, I had to get more blood drawn. And then an hour later, more blood drawn. And then an hour later, more blood drawn. All the while, I wasn't to be up and moving around, just waiting...
This makes a total of 4 blood draws, and the last one really hurt because she had to go in the same vain as a previous draw ouch!! But I did it!! :)
And Flavio was so sweet to wait with me the whole time! :)

Then I needed to eat!! So I had some string cheese and peanuts, and then we went home. Hooray! I checked online to see my lab results later on that day, and everything came back normal!! :)
No Gestational Diabetes!! What a relief!!

Perfect

I am so happy!!!!!!!!

This morning we got up early and at 7:39am I finished drinking the glucose mixture to prep for my test.
We went up to the midwife clinic, and got the paperwork and headed down to the lab where my blood was drawn. Then back up the stairs to our midwife appointment with Dianne. She was so upbeat and helpful!  She said my weight control is awesome!! My blood pressure was great! Baby girl is growing just right! And she gave us great info! :)
We listened to the little one's heartbeat, and it was 156 :) just great!! She even moved haha when Dianne had the doppler on my belly and Dianne said she felt her move.
I'm so pleased!!
